Second Solar Eclipse of 2006
and Its Possible Effects on You

The second solar eclipse of the year, an intense one, is occurring on the 22nd September 2006. It is far more ominous than the one occurring on March 29th this year. The first one had set the tone for the year April 2006 to March 2007 since it had occurred on the Chaitra Shukla Pratipada, the day the Hindus consider the year beginning.

We have already witnessed the spread of terrorism in several countries, the devastation in Iraq, the Mumbai train blasts in India and the Israel-Hezbullah conflict in Lebanon getting out of control. Many astrologers had indicated disastrous happenings due to the first solar eclipse of the year.

The second solar eclipse has the added dimension that it is falling in the ascendant (Virgo), if a chart is made for the moment for Washington, DC the capital of USA. Mars the violent planet (also the 8th lord of the chart) is conjunct and Saturn (also the 6th lord of the chart) is aspecting the conglomeration of 5 planets including Ketu, the southern node of Moon. The 6th lord in a chart indicates conflict and confrontation. The 8th lord indicates all kinds of obstructions being the lord of the house of death.

Under such compelling celestial conditions we are forced to conclude that the involvement of USA in armed confrontations is imperative. This does not give any hope for peaceful settlement of the battle going on in Lebanon. Mars being in the ascendant along with the ascendant lord Mercury indicates that USA cannot escape substantial body blow itself. The flames of fireworks it has initiated in the Middle East are going to burn its own hands also. Despite this, USA stands to gain from this conflict, as its war machinery does from all conflicts. The 6th lord Saturn going to the 11th, the house of gains, has acquired a mammoth total of 45 benefic points as per Ashtakavarga (digital astrology) calculations.

If there are increased natural calamities, especially earthquakes at several places, it should come as no surprise, since the solar eclipse is taking place in an earth sign. The first strong signals of coming global warming will sound its alarms loud and clear and knock the complacence out of the common man and governments alike.

Mars and Saturn had no role to play in the chart of the previous solar eclipse in March. So, if you think that the global happenings since late March have been bad, get ready for the worse.

Individualization

Let us shift our attention from the macro to the micro level and briefly describe how this solar eclipse is going to affect different individuals as per their date of birth. Please note that the sun sign dates in Vedic Astrology are different from the western astrological system. The effects mentioned here will be felt more strongly by men and people in authority. Though most people will feel the effects to various extents, the most accentuated effects will be felt by people born around the19th of the month. The effects will be strongest in September-October 2006 and will slowly peter off as time passes over the following six months. In general, most of the effects of the solar eclipse are adverse but personal horoscopes have to be superimposed over them to appreciate to what extent these adverse effects will actually take shape in individual cases.

For people born between 14th April and 13th May

This solar eclipse may see you involved in domestic conflicts, legal involvements, vehicular accidents, unsavory incidents, even physical harm, hatred and anger. There is a possibility that some of you may sustain head injuries. You would often feel winning at an external level but at the price of inner peace. There would be heightened intellectual activity but clear thinking and perspective will elude you. What you need to do to bring back balance in life is to fashion your actions based on compassion rather than tit for tat. Even though there are no very serious consequences to your love life, a disquiet and unease will prevail.

For people born between 14th May and 13th June

You will be mentally and emotionally disturbed with violent thoughts. Since most of you have strong artistic sensibilities, you may produce literature, music or painting with violence as its theme. Domestic peace will take a beating. Though there would be increased income during this time, your enemies, adversaries and competitors are going to prove a drain on your resources. You are advised to defer any plans for decorating the existing house or buying a new one. You may hear some unpleasant news from your children and the one with earth signs more prominent in his/her chart may even meet with an accident. In your guts you will feel that the secure cocoon that you have so painstakingly woven around yourself is breaking and exposing you to the vagaries of nature. Please take good care of the house you live in. It is under threat from the cosmic forces. It may face some damage due to a natural or manmade calamity. You may enter wily nilly into a legal hassel over the house. If your mother has been old and sick, maybe this is the time she takes her last bow. Peace at home will be hard to maintain as near-violent confrontations with the partner are possible. The male partner will be blamed for being out of your mind, even if it has been provoked by the female partner. Creative people and those in the media will have a field day as they will have a lot on their plate, although communications as a whole is going to be a big calamity. The world will see the kind of misinformation and disinformation that has never been seen before. There will be crisis of credibility, and you may be a player in the scene. A long awaited inheritance may come through.

For people born between 14th July to 13th August

You will feel intellectually stimulated during this time and would set about accomplishing more than you normally do. For you it is time to make money even at he cost of personal health and family. You can be at your creative best. Sibling rivalry may be at its worst during this time. Alternatively one or more of your siblings may get physically hurt and undergo a long period of recuperation. The foreign trip you have been planning for a long time may come through now. Romance with an older or divorced person is likely.

For people born between 14th August to 13th September

Your finances may be badly hit. Your equity investments are likely to take a strong beating. Maybe you should take your money out in the beginning of September much before the 2nd solar eclipse takes the world into its tight suffocating embrace. All speculators beware. Many heads in the organizational hierarchy are likely to roll after October. The vacant positions are likely to be grabbed by the female career climbers. In all this clamour, who will have time for romance. So your love life will be severely disturbed by distance, disease or by misunderstanding. Children and siblings will do well and you may be gratified with some good news from that side.

For people born between 14th September to 13th October

You are the set of people who will be hardest hit by the solar eclipse since it is occurring right on your sun sign. You are, for the same reason, also the set of people who will have a tremendous opportunity to transform yourselves at physical, mental and especially spiritual levels, if you will keep your wits together. You will face destruction and an opportunity to rebuild in all spheres of your existence --professional, financial, personal, marital and physical. You are in danger of physical hurt although you will be in a position to take the knock in your stride. Let not depression take charge, since all the securities that you have created for yourself may become brittle one by one. All is not lost as you are the kind of people who will bounce back the fastest once the effect of the eclipse wears off.

For people born between 14th October to 13th November

The eclipse seems to affect you the least. In fact you may experience a professional high during this period. For you this would be a period of making good money but also spending it. The expenditure will be on unsavory situations, totally out of your control. You will feel as if luck has totally deserted you.

For people born between 14th November to 13th December

Any profit making activity you undertake is likely to meet with financial disaster during this time. People engaged in speculation in a big way will be the hardest hit. Your judgment will be clouded and you are likely to make mistakes due to your own impudence. You might make some money through your adversaries though. Love life seems to come out of this mayhem unscathed. Your standing in society will require a whole lot of rebuilding.

There will an upheaval in your professional and love life though your finances will not be affected adversely. Domestic peace is in peril but you may gain through real estate transactions. There will be new opportunities on the horizon in the professional arena and some sudden, unexpected developments, given time, may turn out to be beneficial. People in the export-import business will find new opportunities emerging. Romance will have to take back seat as more pressing problems have to be attended to.

For people born between 14th January to 13th February

New opportunities in the professional arena are knocking at your door specially if you are trading with foreign countries. A setback in the work area may be caused by a female. May be this is the time to move on. A father figure in the family may pass away. New romantic liaison will be a disaster for the time being. Old ones are likely to get revived.

For people born between 14th February to 13th March

Though profession will go in to a spin yet your financial position will not suffer. You might make unexpected killings on the stock market. Some physical harm cannot be ruled out. You will be strongly drawn towards sex and romance but the activity is likely to bring nothing but harm and humiliation. Any new liaisons initiated during this time are doomed to fail.
