Silence and Contemplation Preferable to Mindless Chatter
A reminder from Sir Arthur
Text Version:
One should guard one's speech. That to talk incessantly is never a good idea. That the sound current issuing forth from the throat chakra in the form of words and voice is quite and highly creative and is ever creating, and so when one listens to the mindless babble that so many engage in, it is no wonder that their lives reflect it in circumstantial reality. So let one be a bit more thoughtful about one's speech. It's oft preferable not to speak at all, perhaps to listen, perhaps to just be more contemplative. But whatever one does, one should be quite careful about speaking thoughtlessly much less speaking words that are designated to harm or hurt. The great Lord Gautama Buddha once was asked, "What is the essence of your teachings? Encapsulate it for us." He thought deeply and finally said, "Cease to do evil, learn to do good." With that he set the Decalogue.
